2. Katty the two-year-old Bichon Frise was reunited with her owners on Wednesday after a few "key leads" submitted by the public. Katty, an adoptee, had been missing for almost a week.

3. Don't be alarmed by the circling helecopters - federal military training excercises are taking place in Boston through August 5, Boston Police announced. The excercises are designed to ensure the military's ability to operate in urban environments and to prepare forces for upcoming overseas deployments. Training sites will be blocked off to the public and heavily guarded.

4. Something you might not know: Saturday is National Cheesecake Day. To celebrate, Cambridge-based 7ate9 Bakery will be taking 10% off all web orders placed from July 30 through August 5, regardless of the delivery date. Sounds tasty!
