2. 's Fifth Annual Knit-a-thon took place earlier this month at the State House on Beacon Hill. The event raised close to $30,000 and enough squares were knit to complete 116 blankets, which will be given as housewarming gifts to homeless men and women moving into housing. The event, sponsored by Michaels Stores, was founded by Pine Street volunteer Farley Sullivan after she befriended a homeless man, Arthur, who she saw each day on her way to work.
