Five Things You Need to Know Today, Feb. 22
Cold temps, Restaurant Week and self-defense training.

Today is Tuesday, February 22. Here are five things you need to know:
1. Winter is officially back, at least for today. Expect cold temperatures early in the morning with highs of around 27 degrees in the afternoon. Sunny skies should warm things a bit, and don't despair - warmer temps will arrive later in the week.
2. It's that time of year - Boston's Restaurant Week starts March 6, which means you might want to think about making reservations. During Restaurant Week, enjoy a 2-course lunch for $15.11, a 3-course lunch for $20.11 or a 3-course dinner for $33.11 at dozens of Boston restaurants.

3. The Union Park Neighborhood Association is partnering with the Boston Police to offer free Rape Aggression Defense Training (RAD). In addition to basic escape tactics, blocks and kick moves, learn how to protect yourself when taking money from an ATM and how to fend off front and rear attacks. Email info@upna.org to sign up or for more information. Classes are held over four Wednesdays beginning March 2.
4. Mayor Thomas Menino is looking for nominees for the city's fifth Annual Green Business and Residential Awards. It's up to you - nominate a business that encourages bike-friendly and other "green" practices or submit the name of a neighbor who incorporates sustainable practices into their home. Nominations are due March 18, click here for more info.
