4. With only 363 citations, and 11 people arrested for offenses ranging from fighting to disorderly conduct, the Boston Police deemed this year's Saint Patrick's Day Parade a success. 5. Got a boat? How about a place to put it? On Monday, the Department of Conservation and Recreation started accepting applications for a spring lottery to award 60 public mooring spots on the Charles River. They're available for private pleasure boats up to 35 feet long and are awarded for one season. No commercial boats or boats for hire are allowed. The mooring locations, on the Cambridge side of the river just downstream of the Longfellow Bridge, are located between the First Street Landing and Poorman’s Landing. The deadline to apply for the lottery is April 29. Applicants must include a copy of a current Massachusetts boat registration for the boat to be moored. To pick up an application, call (617) 626-1483 or visit 251 Causeway Street, Boston, 8th floor.
