Man Robbed on Tremont Street

Police say suspects were armed with a baseball bat.

A man walking on Tremont Street Monday evening was robbed of his personal belongings by two men who threatened him with a baseball bat, police say.

According to reports, the victim was traveling inbound on Tremont Street around 5:40 p.m. when the two men approached him and started hitting a baseball bat against the sidewalk. One suspect motioned to the victim's bag and stated, "So you going to do this?" prompting the second suspect to seize the victim's cell phone, credit and debit cards, a Fung Wa bus ticket, and black windbreaker, according to police.

Both suspects then fled inbound on Tremont Street.

Police say the victim then continued on to the South End Branch Library where he called for help. He was "visibly upset," upon police arrival and requested an ambulance for an evaluation. He was transported to the Boston Medical Center for further treatment.

A search of the area yielded no arrests. Both suspects were described as black men, 6'2", 180 pounds. One was wearing a white t-shirt over a black long-sleeved shirt and the other wore a black baseball cap with a "B" on it.
