NBA Player Beats Man Outside Boston Nightclub: Police
The Philadelphia 76ers center allegedly punched a man and threw him down outside a club after a game against the Celtics at TD Garden.

After losing to the Boston Celtics Thursday night, Philadelphia 76ers Center Jahlil Okafor beat a man outside a Boston nightclub, according to an alleged victim who reported the assault Friday morning.
Boston Police are investigating after the 7-foot-tall NBA player was accused of repeatedly punching a man and shoving him down outside the Storyville Night club on Exeter Street at about 2 a.m. Friday.The victim told police two black men approach his group of friends, and tried to get the phone numbers of some women in the group.
“According to the victim, when his female companions refused their advances, a verbal altercation ensued between him and the suspect,” the police report reads. “During the argument, the male victim states that Okafor attempted to charge him but was momentarily restrained by another individual.”

Okafor soon broke loose an began pushing and punching the victim, knocking him to the ground, the man told police. He required stitches for a cut over his eye, according to the report.
“It was definitely dumb on my part, something I’m embarrassed about,” Okafor told reporters, indicating he was being hassled by a man outside the club. ”I did a dumb thing, I reacted.”

Police are investigating but have not filed charges.
The Celtics beat the 76ers 84-80 Thursday night. Okafor played 36 minutes in the game, leading all scorers with 19 points. He also secured 9 rebounds and blocked 4 shots in the losing effort.
