No Arrests Made in Alleged Armed Robbery On Waltham Street

Victims handed over nearly $260 in cash to suspect, police say.

Two people walking on Waltham Street Wednesday evening were reportedly robbed at gunpoint by a man who said he needed the money to help his sick sister.

According to police, the victims were traveling on Waltham Street near Shawmut Avenue when they were approached by a heavy set black male with a mustache wearing a grey hoodie and a khaki coat.  The man brandished a bronze-colored firearm and ordered the victims to “give me your money, I need it, my sister is sick in the hospital,” police wrote in a report.

Both victims handed over cash amounting to nearly $260, the report states.

The suspect then fled toward Shawmut Avenue where a vehicle was waiting. A subsequent search of the area yielded no suspects.
