The neighborhood association is working with police and the Pine Street Inn to combat illegal activity in key areas.

The Old Dover Neighborhood Association is spearheading a collaborative effort to combat illegal activity in the neighborhood, meeting with District D4 police and Pine Street Inn representatives last Tuesday to discuss possible courses of action.
The meeting, while closed to the press, resulted in an extensive action plan circulated among residents and ODNA members concerned with ongoing underneath Interstate 93 and in alleyways near the Pine Street Inn. The following highlights were written up by the ODNA Safety and Security Committee:
- Continue to push Pine Street to work with the Boston Police to work out coverage of the periphery of Pine Street in a more effective manner than exists today.
- Engage other stakeholders in the overall initiative - specifically Project Place, Eight Streets Neighborhood Association, Bradford Street Association, Friends of Peters Park, South End Business Alliance and .
- Continue to support the BPD and MBTA Police to position surveillance cameras as both a source of information and a deterrent.
- Continue our work on bringing the right parties together to clean up and secure the areas beneath I-93 (DOT, MA Highway, Commonwealth of MA).
- Implement more effective ways for communications to neighborhood residents and businesses.
- Engage more people to help in this initiative.
- Using the results of our survey, put pressure on our City elected officials to work with us to bring more resources to bear on the crime issues.
A quality of life survey has been distributed via email to Old Dover residents, and results will be used to further inform the action plan. To learn more or become a member of the Old Dover Neighborhood Association, click here.
