Parent University Honors 150 'Grads'
Boston Public Schools parents received certificates of diploma from the Parent University program.
More than 150 Boston Public School parents received their certificate of diploma from Boston Public Schools Parent University on June 3.
The event was held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Roxbury. The Class of 2011 successfully completed all the required credits during a year-long education training program. This year more than 1,000 parents participated in more than 100 classes.
Parent University, an initiative created last year by Superintendent Carol R. Johnson, holds sessions focused on child development, curriculum awareness, advocacy, parent leadership, and effective parenting skills.

Parent and guardian graduates represented 64 elementary schools, 17 middle schools, 24 high schools, and four charter Schools.
