Ramsay Park Clean-Up This Saturday

Volunteers needed to help South End Baseball players ready their fields for the 2011 season.

1. Morning clouds should disperse by afternoon, although showers remain likely. Temperatures should reach the mid-70s with wind gusts of 30 mph.

2. Washington Gateway Main Street is looking for volunteers this Saturday to help clean up the Jim Rice Baseball Field at Ramsay Park. Clean-up will commence on Saturday, April 30 at 9 a.m. and light refreshments will be provided. RSVP by calling (617) 542-1234. Washington Gateway is also looking for volunteers to conduct a during the third week of May - email gatewaymainst@rcn.com or call if you're interested.

3. The Blackstone/Franklin Square Neighborhood Association has extended the application deadline for its College Book/Computer Scholarship to May 1. High school seniors heading to college can apply for a scholarship through the BFSNA website and, if they're selected, get help with book and computer costs.

4. The Boston Arts Academy has been named a GRAMMY Signature School for the year 2011. As an Enterprise Award Winner, the school will receive a custom award and $5,500 cash grant to benefit its music program. Enterprise Awards are given to economically under-served schools.

"The GRAMMY Signature Schools program exemplifies the Foundation's commitment to fostering excellence in music education in public high schools," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation.
