Boston residents are being urged to receive the flu vaccine.

The Boston Public Health Commission is urging Boston residents to get the flu vaccine, after the city has seen a spike in cases over the last several weeks, the Boston Business Journal reported.
There have been 728 documented cases of flu reported to the commission since October, according to the BPHC. Hundreds of people are visiting emergency departments for treatment. Approximately 23 percent of those cases have resulted in hospitalization, and there have been four deaths from the virus.
South End, Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan and Hyde Park have had especially high rates.
