Ringgold Park Playgrounds Slated for Upgrade
Renovations to center circle currently underway.
Update: The Ringgold Halloween Celebration will be held at Peters Park on October 31 from 4:30-6 p.m.
, currently fenced off as renovations to its center circle continue, will be receiving further upgrades to its playgrounds next summer, the Friends group devoted to the park announced last week.
The city’s Parks Department plans to renovate both playgrounds in the neighborhood park next summer, according to a post on the Friends website. Community meetings will be held this winter to gather input on the future design. Currently, the park offers separate fenced in playspaces for toddlers and older children.

Meanwhile, construction on the park’s center circle has been delayed, the Friends announced. Materials for the for the circle should arrive in early October, bringing the project’s expected completion date to sometime in November.
Once compete, the six-foot-tall fountain will sit atop a stone base in the center of what used to be a grassy circle. Water will spray upwards and trickle down into the lower basin during warmer months. Low fencing will surround the area and granite seating and shade trees will flank the fountain on either side.

The park has been closed off for construction since June, and will remain so until project is completed. The delay has forced neighbors to cancel Ringgold Park's .
A neighborhood park clean-up will be held once the project is complete.
