Shooting In South End Leaves 1 Dead

The report of a shooting came in the middle of the afternoon near Lower Roxbury in the South End.

SOUTH END, MA — A shooting in the middle of the afternoon Monday in the South End left one man dead, and now police are asking for the public's help in trying to figure out who is responsible for the shooting and what happened.

Police were called to Northampton Street for the shooting just after 1 p.m. Monday.

Shortly after, SWAT teams were on the scene and police had closed Northampton Street between Tremont Street and Shawmut Avenue, as police investigated.
