South End Voters Supported Lee
Seventy-six percent of South End voters in District 2 selected Suzanne Lee for council.

Just 18 percent of registered South End voters living in District 2 went to the polls on Tuesday, but those who did showed overwhelming support for challenger Suzanne Lee, who lost the election by a mere 87 votes.
Unofficial ward-by-ward results released by the city on Wednesday show 74.5% percent of South End voters marked Lee’s name on their ballot. 19.6 percent supported incumbent Bill Linehan, who on the council with his victory.

In South Boston, Linehan’s home base, Lee secured nearly a third of the vote, an achievement touted as “unprecedented” in a press release issued by the Chinese Progressive Political Action, which endorsed Lee.
"What this shows is that we all want the same things," Lee said at her election night party in Chinatown. "Good schools, jobs, a stable community and a chance to participate in making decisions."

District 2 includes a portion of the South End in addition to Bay Village, Chinatown, South Boston and part of Dorchester.
Pressley favored among South End voters
At-large incumbent Ayanna Pressley received the citywide and in the South End, with 71.5 percent of South End voters choosing her as one of their four choices. Felix Arroyo was right behind, securing a vote from 67 percent of neighborhood voters. John Connolly and Stephen Murphy, both victorious city-wide, were third and fourth in the South End.
All four incumbents secured another term on the council.
Jackson wins landslide victory
District 7 incumbent Tito Jackson garnered 77 percent of the South End's District 7 vote on his way to victory over challenger Sheneal Parker. Just 14 percent of register South End voters in District 7 cast ballots in the election.
