South End's Strong Showing in Boston Dining Ranking
Thrillist is out with a new list. What do you think of the selections?
BOSTON, MA — Tired of heaping praise on Cambridge and Somerville's flouring restaurant scene, Thrillist's local writer turned her attention to Boston this week, with a new ranking of the city's culinary scene by neighborhood.
The South End made No. 2, in part because "this quaint neighborhood of art galleries and brownstones is an exceptionally trendy place to live right now, and it’s mostly because of the food," according to the author.
Special props went to Toro, Coppa, Bar Mezzana, Anchovies, Oishii, Orinoco, Elephant Walk, Gaslight, Kava, The Butcher Shop, B&G Oysters, the Buttery, Blackbird Doughnuts and Tremont 647. Additional plaudits went to the "exceptional" bar scene, with special mention of Wink & Nod and Beehive.

A ranking like Thrillist's is meant to be a useful guide to any eater, but has the special potential to attract new folks to the neighborhood, particularly tourists on the hunt for a good neighborhood guide.
We've included Thrillist's neighborhood rankings below. You can read more on its site for restaurant recommendations and the author's reasoning behind each of the picks. Find that here.
