Teen Arrested After South End Shooting
After a short chase, police caught up to one of two men who were running away from a reported shooting.

SOUTH END, MA — Early Sunday morning after a shooting on West Newton Street, police arrested a teen and charged him in connection with it.
About 12:38 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, officers on a directed patrol saw two men running on Al Street away from West Newton Street. Just as the two men were running past, dispatch notified police over the radio that shots were fired in the area of 100 West Newton st.
Because it was so close by, officers said they attempted to speak with the men, but the two apparently did not stop to talk with police, so police ran after them. During the foot pursuit, officers lost sight of one of the men but saw the second crouch down between two vehicles in the area of 111 West Concord St.
