Valet Injured During Alleged Hit-And-Run Accident

Suspect vehicle 'beeped' before striking victim, police report.

A valet working in front of Saturday night was sent to the hospital with serious injuries after a motorist struck him and fled the area, police reported.

An officer patrolling the area was called to the scene by the victim's co-worker, who said a silver Jeep Wrangler with a black top struck the valet as he was about to entering a parked car on Tremont Street, a police report states. The incident took place around 9:17 p.m.

According to police, the victim "heard the suspect's motor vehicle beep as it sped at him," sending him spinning into another parked car. A co-worker gave chase to the car, which turned up Dartmouth Street toward Back Bay.

The victim, who was in obvious pain when police arrived, was transported to Tufts Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries to his head, neck and shoulder.

A search of the area yielded no suspects.
