LYNN, MA — The North Shore Navigators will return to the field this summer as part of the New England Collegiate Baseball League after a nine-year absence.

The franchise called the previously North Shore home in the NECBL from 2008 until 2012. It played the last three seasons in the "Futures" league.
"We are excited to rejoin this great league," said North Shore President and General Manager Derek January. "With 14 teams in the league, our fans will have an opportunity to see how good the college baseball talent is across the country.

"The league's not-for-profit status is aligned with our desire to give back to the community, and we have many promotions planned to do just that. We think being in the NECBL is a home run for our players, fans and sponsors."
The team said it plans for its season to begin on June 4 while its website indicated it "contemplated that, at least initially, the ballpark will open at 25 percent of its capacity."
The Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox have been allowed to play at 12 percent capacity as part of Phase 4, Step 1 of the state's coronavirus reopening as of March 22.
