4th Of July Fireworks 2021 Near Waltham

WALTHAM, MA — Coronavirus cases are dropping across the country while the number of those who are fully vaccinated are on the rise, which means there is even more reason to celebrate this Independence Day. July 4 is almost here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you.

We have all the fireworks shows and events happening in and around Waltham, so you can start planning now.

This year, there will be fireworks, but the events that usually happen at Prospect Hill Park are out, according to the city.

Here's what's in store this July 4 in and near Waltham:

What: Music -the “Buddy Bergeron Group” - and then fireworks
Where: Leary Field, 19 Athletic Field Road
When: Music will start around 5:30 p.m. Usually fireworks start at dusk, around 9 or 9:30 p.m. July 4. The fireworks license application with the state said start time 9 p.m.

• There will be NO street closures
• Vendors, such as a food truck and ice cream truck will be on site
• There will be NO weapons, fireworks, sharp objects, or glass containers allowed.
• No wheeled coolers will be allowed.
• All bags brought in may be subject to search.
• No drones will be allowed.
• Due to the noise associated with fireworks, it is recommended you leave your pets at home
• Waltham Police and Fire details will be on site

For those who want to double-dip, at 9:30 p.m. July 2, there will be fireworks at Lexington High School on Worthen Road.

Newton has canceled its fireworks for 2021, but is planning a pet parade and family-friendly activities.
