This year, there will be fireworks, but the events that usually happen at Prospect Hill Park are out, according to the city.

What: Music -the βBuddy Bergeron Groupβ - and then fireworks
Where: Leary Field, 19 Athletic Field Road
When: Music will start around 5:30 p.m. Usually fireworks start at dusk, around 9 or 9:30 p.m. July 4. The fireworks license application with the state said start time 9 p.m.
- There will be NO street closures
- Vendors, such as a food truck and ice cream truck will be on site
- There will be NO weapons, fireworks, sharp objects, or glass containers allowed.
- No wheeled coolers will be allowed.
- All bags brought in may be subject to search.
- No drones will be allowed.
- Due to the noise associated with fireworks, it is recommended you leave your pets at home
- Waltham Police and Fire details will be on site
For those who want to double-dip, at 9:30 p.m. July 2, there will be fireworks at Lexington High School on Worthen Road.
Newton has canceled its fireworks for 2021, but is planning a pet parade and family-friendly activities.
