Bruce F. Nies, 44, formerly of Waltham

Mr. Bruce F. Nies, of Gardner, died Saturday, October 5, 2013 at his home. He was 44.

Bruce was born in Waltham on October 30, 1968 a son of Edward A. and Carole D. (Kaminski) Nies of Gardner.

He lived for most of his life in Waltham and graduated from the Waltham Vocational High School. He worked as a HVAC sheet metal mechanic and had moved to Gardner in July.

In addition to his parents, Bruce is survived by his daughter, Brandi Nies, of W. Paris, Maine; his sister, Donna M. Laferriere of N. Grafton; his nephews, Matthew Whalen and Nicholas Laferriere, and his niece, MacKenzie Nies.

He was the brother of the late Edward A. Nies, Jr.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bruce's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, October 9th, from 5 to 7 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where his Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
