City Of Waltham: Woerd Ave Bridge Project Update As Of June 2nd

Per MassDOT, the Woerd Ave Bridge will open this week. Here's the timeline with some considerations:

• THIS FRIDAY, 6/4/21: A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 4pm with Mayor McCarthy, City Officials, and neighbors to officially recognize the completion of the Woerd Ave Bridge Project. All are welcome to join. 

Remaining schedule and Plan:

• 6/3/21 Final Site work: The remaining task to finalize the bridge is stripping (painting of lines), these lines must be recessed into the road - early tomorrow (6/3/21) the subcontractor will be on the Woerd Ave Bridge to cut the channels into the pavement for thermoplastic paint to be applied 
• The Woerd Ave Bridge will open to traffic as soon as the paint is cured either Thursday or Friday, with the ribbon cutting ceremony to follow.
