Coronavius: Norton Has 9 Confirmed Cases, 1 Recovery
Norton Health Agent Christian Zahner praises town residents' adherence to stay-at-home, social distancing directives.
NORTON - Norton Health Agent Christian Zahner announced that as of Tuesday the town has nine confirmed coronavirus tests, as well as one recovery who is no longer in isolation. The confirmed tests are only those that have been reported to the Board of Health.
"Over the next couple of days, and as we move forward, more and more of our cases will be recovering and being cleared of their quarantine and or isolation," Zahner said. "I say this to remind you that though this is a little scary, there is a bright side, there is recovery."
Zahner said the Board of Health has worked to investigate, monitor and track all of the confirmed cases in the town, and has worked closely with the Norton Fire Department, Norton Police Department, Norton Town Hall and Norton Public Schools. Norton is also conducting essential food establishment, septic system and emergency housing inspections.

"I want to commend the great residents of Norton for following the stay-at-home guidelines that have been put in place by Gov. Charlie Baker and have now been extended to May 4," Zahner said. "Social distancing is our greatest tool that we all have to fight this virus and help flatten the curve in hopes of shortening this pandemic. We are all in this together and together we can beat this virus if we all do our part. Let us not forget to reach out to our friends and family via one of our technology options. Just say hello and let one another know that you're not alone in this crisis."
