Local Girl Scouts Learn To Defend Themselves Against Strangers

Troops from Waltham and Watertown came together to learn how to identify strangers and how to defend against them.

In today's world it's always important to use common sense. So girls from the Daisy, Brownies, and Junior levels from troops 62565 (Waltham) and 62728 (Watertown) came together Saturday afternoon September 29th, 2018 to learn basics in Stranger Safety and how to defend against predatory strangers.

In this instruction held by Americas Best Defense of Waltham; the girls learned how to identify those whom they need to watch for and how to identify those whom they can go to for help in these types of situations.

Unfortunately these situations don't just stop outside the home any more either. Since the invention of social media we have started to see more and more predatory actions happen. Which means more ground for predators to search for victims. With the help of Americas Best Defense headed by Mr. Arujo being assisted by Mr. Kenny and Ms. Laticia this special program was held to help these girls learn just what to do.

The girls were there with a member of their family so that the families would be able to go over the same material at home more in depth with the girls. It was a great event enjoyed by all who attended and truly appreciated. Both troops wish to send their thanks to Americas Best Defense and hope that they will never have to use the defense but are ready to use it if needed.
