Lexi The Foster Dog Needs A Permanent Home

The 3-year-old Pitt mix is currently being fostered by a Waltham resident. But she's looking for a more permanent home.

WALTHAM, MA β€” Need a new best friend? One Waltham resident knows where you can find one. He recently brought her to a dog adoption event at Sullivan Tire & Auto Service's Plymouth location. With help from their new partnership with Last Hope K9 Rescue, dozens of potential adopters came out to meet the nine pups there looking for their FUR-ever families. But Lexi, a lovable three-year-old Pitbull mix, still needs a permanent home.

Todd Horn, of Waltham, adopted his own dog through LHK9 and then began fostering dogs as well. Lexi, is his 47th foster dog. He said he hopeful she’ll soon find her forever home. But if you think you're that person, contact Last Hope.

LHK9 volunteers work to save abandoned, neglected and/or abused dogs from high-kill shelters throughout the country regardless of age, pre-existing medical conditions or breed. All dogs that attended were available for deposits beforehand, which held each furry friend for a few weeks while an application process was underway to help each dog find the right family.

LHK9 foster parents of the dogs were on hand to answer questions about each of their furry friends – like their personality, temperament, energy level and especially where they love to be scratched. The volunteers present were extremely passionate about their dogs and the organization's work.

β€œLast Hope K9 Rescue is a wonderful organization. When you attend one of their events, see the dogs and hear their stories, it’s very touching,” said Paul Sullivan, of at Sullivan Tire & Auto Service. β€œTheir compassion and warmth for the animals is undeniable. I applaud all of those who recognize the need for such an ambitious undertaking in protecting β€˜man’s best friend.’”
