
Thanks to your feedback and readership, I am continuing my new feature on Waltham Patch. The series, "Literally Waltham," will involves a focus featuring local bookish activities. This week starts off with a blood-tingling event at Brookline Booksmith. The Boston Thrillers Panel will present Daniel Palmer, Hank Phillippi Ryan, William Martin, Joseph Finder, and William Landay at 7PM.
Newtonville Books presents an author talk by Elise Juska at 7 o'clock. Juska will discuss her fictional account of a mass shooting rural Maine in "If We Had Known."

The Wellesley Free Library is hosting Julia Glass in conversation with Nichole Bernier from 7-8:30.

Tuesday the 8th brings a new crop of bookish events to the week. Newtonville Books is offering an author talk with Dan Sheehan and Daniel Abbot.
At Belmont Books, Ace Atkins will discuss his new serial book, "Robert B. Parker's Old Black Magic," about a fictional Boston based investigator.

Wednesday is an awesome day for local teens to share their poetry. Been Out Here Teen Open Mic will hold its monthly event at the Center for the Arts at the Armory in Somerville.
Bill's Book Group for Guys will meet at 7PM at Wellesley Books.
Author Stephen McCauley will discuss his newest book, "My Ex-Life" at Porter Square Books.
If you follow Boston Globe writer Meredith Goldstein advice column, you will be interested in her presentation at Newtonville Books. She will discuss her memoir, "Can't Help Myself."
Wine and dessert will compliment the delightful Belles of the Ball: Amy Poeppel, Crystal King, Abby Fabiaschi, Jenny Brown, and Lara Lillibridge. Belmont Books will begin the party at 7PM.

Belmont Books hosts another author event on Thursday the 10th. Wendy Francis will introduce her book, "The Summer Sail."
Samuel Miller will share his book "A Lite Too Bright" at Wellesley Books.
Porter Square Books hosts an author night with Alexandra Maozno-Lesnevich and Celeste Ng.
Boston University celebrates the BINcA Young Authors' Book Project Release Party at Boston International Newcomers Academy, beginning at 6:30.

Two local author events will be held Friday to start the weekend off with new books. Belmont Books will host Brendan Kiely as he discusses his new book, "Tradition." Porter Square Books is offering a reading of Max Loskutoff's publication, "Come West and See."

This Saturday is the highlight of the literary week in Waltham, as time travel unravels the streets into the alter-world of Watch City. The yearly Steampunk Festival brings with it a host of literary events, including a full day at the Waltham Public Library.
