Welcome to July’s "Literally Waltham" series! This month I will include events and books which may be of interest to teens, young adults, and full-grown readers. If you have literary events which are being offered locally, you can share them by e-mailing me through my website. Literally!

Sunday 7/1 Porter Square Books 7PM: Local author Will Lupens presents his book, “Cares of a Wandering Boy,” which “tells the story of a few days in the life of fourteen year-old Sam Furlong. It’s a different sort of life – spent haunting public libraries and roaming California back roads with his father.”

Thursday 7/12 Belmont Books 7PM: Local author Grace Dane Mazur presents “The Garden Party.” “A rehearsal dinner brings together two disparate families in this sparkling, witty novel.”
Friday 7/13 Brookline Booksmith 7PM: Friday the 13thwith 2 creepy books! Alex White presents, “A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe,” and Elizabeth Bear reads from “Stone Mad.”

Tuesday 7/17 Belmont Books 7-9PM: Reading for Rosie’s Place. Fundraiser for Rosie’s Place with authors Juliette Fay, Meredith Goldstein, and Randy Susan Meyers.
Wednesday 7/18 Brookline Booksmith 7PM: Louise Miller discusses her book, “The Late Bloomer’s Club.” “A delightful novel about two headstrong sisters, a small town’s efforts to do right by the community, and the power of a lost dog to summon true love.”
Thursday 7/19 Porter Square Books 7PM: Authors Jane C. Esther, Fiona Riley, and Holly Stratimore share their latest lesbian romance novels.
Saturday 7/21 Wellesley Books: July Jubilation with local children’s author Wayne Watson.
Sunday 7/22 Belmont Books 1-2PM: Christina Uss reads from her novel, “The Adventures of a Girl Called Bicycle. “A determined 12-year-old girl bikes across country in this quirky and charming middle grade novel.
Wednesday 7/25 Danversport Yacht Club 4-9PM: New England Authors Expo. This is THE literary event of the summer! Meet local authors, celebrities, and special guests while you browse the largest grassroots literary event in New England. Jessica Lucci (ahem) will be available to sign books.
Thursday 7/26 Harvard Book Store 7PM: Ottessa Moshfeg presents her book, “My Year of Rest and Relaxation.”
Friday 7/27 Newtonville Books 7PM: Release party for “Idol Talk: Women Writers on the Teenage Infatuations that Changed their Lives.” Readings from Elizabeth Searle, Marianne Leone, and Hank Phillippi Ryan.
Saturday 7/28 Hampton Beach: Steampunk Beachday! Bring your favourite steampunk novel (or a new one) and wear your best steampunk swim attire!
Sunday 7/29 Porter Square Books 3-5 PM: Be the Change: Massachusetts Bail Fund. Atara Rich Shea will provide a discussion. 20% of sales from 3-5 will be donated to The Massachusetts Bail Fund.
Tuesday 7/31 Harvard Book Store 7PM: Ben Goldfarb presents his book: “Eager: The Surprising, Secret Life of Beavers and Why They Matter.”
