New Waltham Restaurant is Blast From the Meaty Past
The new steakhouse serves the country's first year-round "beefsteak" menu.
WALTHAM, MA - Walthamβs newest restaurant is an upgraded version of the the century-old βbeefsteakβ meal, where hundreds of men would devour meat using their bare hands.
The new 240-seat steakhouse Flank is giving Waltham locals a classier version of that experience and is open to women and vegetarians too.
The restaurant offers the first year-round beefsteak menu in the country, according to Flank owner Whole House Group.

βIt is important for us to share the gluttony of the beefsteak with as many people as possible,β Whole House Groupβs Managing Director Greg Hill said in a statement.
The menu is served family-style in three or four courses and boasts prime cuts of flank, hanger and coulotte. All cuts of meat are all-natural premium Brandt Beef from California.

In a true nod to the beefsteak era the steaks can be served in the βold world styleβ of Diane (steak au poivre finished with a brandy flambΓ©). Other options include the Oscar (topped with asparagus, crab cakes and bΓ©arnaise), Rossini (topped with foie gras, black truffle and Madeira demi glace) and Carpetbagger (stuffed with oysters).
There are plenty of a la carte, seafood and vegetarian options also available.
Another throwback is the list of prohibition-era inspired craft cocktails. For a more modern twist Flank has an extensive wine list stored in a state-of-the-art wine preservation system. The system allows higher-priced wines to be poured by the glass.
Flank is located at 74 Tower Road.
