Obituary: Ili Ghati, 70, of Waltham

Ili, who immigrated from Hungary 44 years ago, "was willing to try anything once and would tell her family to 'Go for it.'"

WALTHAM, MA – Ili Ghati, 70, of Waltham passed away after a lengthy illness, Sunday morning, March 5, 2017 at her home. She was 70.

Born and raised in Csanytelek, Hungary to the late IstvΓ‘n and MΓ‘ria (Seres) GΓ‘ti, Ili moved to Waltham 44 years ago.

Ili worked as a hairdresser for many years at the Ambiance Salon in Chestnut Hill.

In her spare time, Ili loved knitting and crocheting, traveling to Las Vegas, and reading on her Kindle. She loved music and was a skilled violinist. Most of all Ili enjoyed spending time with her cherished granddaughters. Her family will remember her as a very elegant, spontaneous, fun and beautiful lady. She was willing to try anything once and would tell her family to "Go for it."

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband JΓ‘nos Borossa, her beloved daughter Andrea Cuthbert of Waltham, her sister Maria Magyar of Hungary, and her cherished granddaughters Vanessa and Marissa Cuthbert.

A private funeral service was held for the immediate family.
