Physical Therapy Clinic Owner Charged With Health Care Fraud

BROOKLINE, MA — The owner of physical therapy clinics in Waltham, Brookline, and Allston was arrested while attempting to board an international flight at JFK International Airport on Tuesday and is being charged with health care fraud.

State authorities are saying Chang Goo Yoon, 59, billed patients for services that were not provided and for appointments that were canceled or not attended. He allegedly used the name and health care provider identifier of a former employee for some of the claims, though she did not provide the services. For some of the dates, the patient was overseas or Yoon was at a casino, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Yoon’s first appearance in court will be Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the Eastern District of New York.
