Rapid Drive-Thru Coronavirus Test Site In Waltham Wednesday
AFC Urgent Care is hosting same-day results during its drive-thru coronavirus testing Wednesday.

WALTHAM, MA β AFC Urgent Care is set to hold another large-scale drive-thru testing center for the new coronavirus in the parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Prospect Hill Wednesday. According to a spokesperson at the business, the results will be given out that same day.
As of Saturday, April 18, the last time the city released numbers, a total of 407 had tested positive for the virus that causes the COVID-19 illness and six had died, according to Mayor Jeannette McCarthy Sunday.
Across the commonwealth, some 38,077 people tested positive as of Sunday, and the number of deaths rose to 1,706.

If you are showing symptoms of the respiratory illness, you can reach out to the AFC Urgent Care for a telemedicine pre-screening appointment Monday or Tuesday. If one of the AFC providers thinks you meet the standards for the test, they'll write you a note to say as much and set you up with an appointment for Tuesday.
The health care business is accepting all types of health insurance, including MassHealth and Medicare.

At the Urgent Care's first event last month, 350 people were screened via telehealth the day before, 200 people were recommended to get testing and 175 showed up on March 21.
Anyone who is exhibiting symptoms should call AFC Urgent care Monday and Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at 781-430-8161
A second option in Waltham is PhysicianOne Urgent Care, which is also offering drive-thru screenings for those who prescreen with them.
To schedule a prescreening head to that business's website, click the "check in online" option. During the virtual visit, a PhysicianOne Urgent Care provider will answer any questions you might have and assess symptoms and recommend next steps.

To avoid spreading any respiratory illness, the CDC recommends staying at home when you are sick, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue and throwing the tissue in the trash, cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces. The governor and the mayor have both urged people not to leave their home unless absolutely necessary, and when getting groceries, to get enough to last weeks.l And when leaving the house to wear a face covering to help slow the spread of the virus.
Gov. Charlie Baker announced the opening of a drive-thru testing center for first responders and grocery store workers at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, even for those who are not showing symptoms.
