River Street Closed After Van Crashes Into Poles In Waltham
Crews are working to repair utility poles.
WALTHAM, MA β More than six hours after a minivan crashed into several utility poles near the corner of River and Seyon streets, the road is closed to traffic. Police say it is likely to stay that way for the bulk of the day.
Waltham Police said a woman was cited for speeding and reckless operation after knocking down several poles around 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said she was there were no major injuries, though the crash sent the Watertown woman to a hospital.

In the meantime, drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
The River Street Dunkin, which is on the corner across from the downed power lines, lost power for a couple of hours in the morning, but it has since been restored for them.
