Snow, Ice Coming Overnight: MA Weather

The National Weather Service says snow will start falling about 1 a.m. Tuesday and persist through the morning commute.

BOSTON β€” Eastern Massachusetts is in for some hazardous weather as a storm moving in just after midnight is expected to bring snow and possibly ice during the first half of the day Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says snow accumulations are not likely to be great along the Boston-to-Providence corridor β€” just 1 to 3 inches β€” but the possibly of ice accumulation could make driving dangerous during the morning commute. The storm is supposed to start about 1 a.m. Tuesday and continue until 1 p.m.

Worcester and points west in Massachusetts are due for somewhat heavier snow β€” 2 to 5 inches β€” and the storm is likely to linger until 7 p.m. the weather service said.

Patch will update this story during the day and report on any school closings in the evening.
