Waltham High Wins The State Championship In Hockey At TD Garden
Waltham boys won the final high school hockey game of the year 4-1 over Marshfield making the Hawks Division 1 State Champs.

WALTHAM, MA β TD Garden erupted into cheers and a shower of red caps fell onto the ice as it became official Sunday night: Waltham won the final high school hockey game of the year in Massachusetts 4-1 over Marshfield, making the Hawks Division 1 State Champs.
This is the first time the boys team made it to the championships in more than a dozen years, but by the sea of red in the stands you might not know it.
"A big shout out to the amazing crowd tonight. The city came out in force to support us through the entire playoffs. Hawk Pride," tweeted Waltham Athletics after the game.

Chris Egan slipped in the first goal of the night, followed by Andrew Miller in the second period. Then, just 13 seconds into the third period, Declan Reynolds slipped one home in front pushing the Hawks to its 3-0 lead, according to Hockey Night in Boston.
With 6 minutes left in the game Marshfield got on the board to raise the score 3-1. But it wasn't even close.

J.T. Logue redirected a centering feed from Brian Pescatore to give Waltham a 4-1 lead with 3:25 to go in the game. And that's where the score stayed til the end.
