With a rainbow overhead, swans, ducks, grackles, and bunnies joined the Healthy Waltham walk on Tuesday evening. Kids in strollers, preschoolers holding hands, and neighbors new and old took joy in the beautiful surroundings, and in friendly conversation.

Healthy Waltham and the Waltham Recreation Department has joined up to sponsor "Waltham Walks" to promote well-being and exercise.

Tuesday's walk was led by Stacy from Healthy Waltham and Councillor Robert Logan. Geared up with sunglasses and jackets, because this is New England, people met at the Moody Street Bridge by Margarita's.

At a leisurely pace, perfect for conversation and nature observation, the walkers took the "RiverWalk Park Route," a loop just long enough to make new friends out of neighbors.
