What Are Those Metal Tags on Waltham's Trees?
You may have noticed some extra bling on trees in Waltham.

WALTHAM, MA β You may have noticed a little extra bling on some of Waltham's trees. The reason? The Forestry Division is currently completing an inventory of all the public trees in the city. As of Feb. 1, wards 4-1, 4-2, 6-1, 8-1 and 9-2 had been completed.
The program is in its infancy and provides data such as tree species, diameter, health, energy savings, annual costs and other information for maintenance planning and reforestation.
Residents may view the collected information here. Trees will appear as green if they have been inventoried; those that were last inventoried in 2004 will appear as red. To view statistics about each tree, click the round blue "i" icon at the top right of the page.
