Westborough Connects Collaborates on “Aging Enjoyably in a Connected Westborough” Program
Event to showcase social, recreational and educational opportunities and resources for adults in the community
Westborough, MA, September 30, 2019: Westborough Connects, in partnership with Westborough Council on Aging, and Westborough Youth & Family Services, will host “Aging Enjoyably in a Connected Westborough,” on Sunday, November 3rd from 2-4 pm at Westborough High School. This event is free and open to all.

Westborough has a rich history and dynamic present life, with a lot to offer its residents of all ages. This event will give opportunities to create social connections, share Westborough’s vibrant resources and be welcomed by Westborough Connects' vision of creating a connected and resilient community. The event features guest speakers, a community resource fair, light refreshments and time to socialize and make new connections.
The afternoon will kick off with inspirational speaker presentations by best-selling author, Bruce Frankel, life coach, Lisa Borchetta and Westborough's own champion powerlifter, Dr. Harmesh Sharma. Remarks will center around the concepts of living your best life and actively engaging in the community.

Following the speakers, attendees will have an opportunity to explore the exhibit hall showcasing many clubs and community organizations which make Westborough a special place to live, work, connect and play. An additional goal of the day is to gather information from attendees about future programs and options they are looking for in our Westborough community. Light refreshments will also be served.
About the Speakers
Bruce Frankel is a nationally-known activist in the field of positive aging. He is the author of the best selling book What Should I Do With The Rest Of My Life? as well as Co-President of The Life Planning Network and an entrepreneur whose company, Redstring, builds local and global digital villages. He was a writer and editor for People magazine and Time Inc. and the New York-based national reporter for USA Today. He lives in Sharon, MA, and is the father of three sons.
Lisa Borchetta, MA, PCC has been inspired by working with and helping people of all ages since she was a teenager. A former mental health counselor, professional certified coach, teacher, program developer and administrator – Lisa’s primary focus has always been on empowering those she works with to live: fulfilling, authentic and balanced lives that best reflect their unique talents, values and interests. She is currently working on one of her life-long passions: creating opportunities for empowering individuals to create meaningful communities that support inclusive, intergenerational connection. Lisa has lived in Westborough for over 20 years where she raised her two sons. She is an artist, gourmet cook, music enthusiast and a daily observer of the wonders and beauty of the natural world just outside her back door.
Dr. Harmesh Sharma is our very own Westborough town resident and champion who turned to powerlifting in his 70s and holds 5 National Powerlifting records. With sheer determination, hard work, community and family support, Dr. Sharma believes that even at age 75, though your work life ends, you can still continue to evolve. Dr. Sharma had a distinguished career in the field of medical research and holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry of Aging and study of Enzyme Alteration. Dr. Sharma is a resident of Westborough, MA since 1992, has 2 sons and lives in a multigeneration home with his wife, his son, his daughter in law and grandchildren.
