WESTBOROUGH, MA — Amazon has big plans to invest in Massachusetts again, this time with it's sights set on Westborough. The company plans on opening a new facility in the town, bringing 200 tech and advanced manufacturing jobs to the area. The new facility would serve as the Amazon Robotics Innovation Hub and will open in 2021.

Amazon plans on spending over $40 million to develop the new Westborough facility. The 350,000 square foot space will be complete with corporate offices, research and development labs, and manufacturing space — the facility was developed by Atlantic Management, a Framingham company.

The tech and online shopping giant already has a robotics facility in North Reading — the plan is for the two facilities to work together as the company’s epicenter of robotics innovation. Amazon, particularly the robotics division, is looking to grow it's facilities and anchor them in the state. Tye Brady, Amazon Robotics’ Chief Technologist, said the company is looking forward to it's future in the Massachusetts.
