Back In Business: What Should Go Here In Westborough?

This is the first in a series on Patch asking readers what should move into empty buildings. We start with this historic place on Route 30.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—This historical building has roots that suggest that a person named Asa Brown Forbush owned it in 1699, but Westboro History said the deed says otherwise. The first documentation of someone owning the property was that of a dairy farmer from 1874 to 1876.

Flash forward, and the last owners of this place at 133 East Main St. (Route 30) in Westborough operated it as a store called Zinc Home Furnishings and Interior Design. It still sits there, empty, and for sale. Located at the intersection of Route 9 and Route 30, it's just minutes from the entrance to Route 495.

According to a listing on RedFin, the property sold last in April of 2000 for $249,000. It's on the marketfor $462,975.
