Westborough’s first annual “Summer Concerts in the Park” is looking spectacular with a mix of national and regional musical acts performing on warm summer nights and Sunday afternoons. Seating is on the lawn. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, bubbles, a picnic spread or eat-in/take-out at a local restaurant and enjoy the music. The concerts are free to the public, however we will ask for a small suggested donation at each concert. Suggested donation: $5/person or $20/family. Located at Bay State Commons.
Donations go to supporting the artists. For your donation, you will be given a raffle ticket when donating and at the end of a show, numbers will be called. You could win a gift certificate to a local restaurant or sports club in the area.
Friday, July 13, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Katrin, a singer-songwriter with a blues/soul/R&B edge, will perform. Katrin's influences run from Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt, to new age guitarist Michael Hedges, soul greats Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, capped by guitar tunings that would make Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin take notice.
"I don't consider myself just a singer-songwriter,'' says Katrin. "I always felt a little too edgy for that.''
