Deer Killed, Driver OK In Westborough Crash
The car was damaged and a deer died after a crash in Westborough on Thursday morning.
WESTBOROUGH, MA—A person was not injured, but a deer was killed, in a collision on Route 9 in Westborough on Thursday morning.
Westborough police assisted the driver, who was headed down Turnpike Road westbound near the Computer Drive exit when a deer was attempting to cross. The call came in at 11:36 a.m., according to police.
"The driver was not hurt at all," said Lt. Glenn McLeod. "The deer was dead on arrival."

McLeod added that the department has not seen an uptick on animal-related accidents recently.
There are now more than 95,000 white-tailed deer in Massachusetts, according to MassWildlife. The number of deer range from about 10–15 deer per square mile in northwestern Massachusetts to more than 80 deer per square mile in areas of eastern Massachusetts closed to hunting.
