Farmer's Market Selling Tomatoes; Free Movie Night Tonight

Here are five things you need to know to inform you for the rest of the day.

  1. It's still not too late to check out the Westborough Farmers Market. It closes at 6 p.m. Located at the Congregational Church. According to the market’s Facebook page, there are plenty of tomatoes still to be sold today. 
  2. Interested in singing? The Hundredth Town Chorus is seeking all kinds of singers to join their group for the fall, no matter the gender or age of the singer. Auditions are not required, and they perform different shows throughout the fall and winter seasons. For more information, call the director Wendy at 508-366-0662.
  3. Google recently honored the town of Westborough as Google’s 2013 eCity of Massachusetts, an award designated to acknowledge the most digitized town in the state. The Westborough business community met at the South Street Diner on Aug. 14 to celebrate the award.
  4. Tonight at 8:30 p.m. on the Bay State Green on Union St., the Westborough Public Library in partnership with the Westborough Farmer’s Market will hold “Screen on the Green.” It is a free movie night for the residents of Westborough. The movie showing tonight is “Babe” and is sponsored by the Friends of the Westborough Public Library. For more information, visit the library’s website. 
  5. According to the town of Westborough’s website, there are several vacancies on various committees. Volunteers are needed to fill in some important positions, including 300th Anniversary Committee (nine members), two members needed for the Council on Aging and one school committee member.
