Here Are The Businesses Residents Want To See In Westborough
Family-oriented restaurants and healthy options were among the most popular answers.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — Westborough has a healthy business community, especially with big names like BJ's Wholesale Club calling the town home. The small business community is still growing and while residents have options at their doorstep, there's always room for more. Patch wanted to know what kinds of new businesses residents would like to see in Westborough and residents flooded the Facebook post comments with ideas.
It's hard to list all of the businesses residents want to see come to town (there were over 30 comments with suggestions) but here are some of the most popular answers:
Entertainment
The most popular answer on resident's entertainment wish list was a movie theater. The town's only theater, Regal Cinemas, abruptly closed in the fall of 2017 and has been closed ever since.

Another answer that garnered attention was some form of live music, preferably at a restaurant.
Shopping
When it comes to shopping, Westborough residents seem to prefer chain stores. A few comments mentioned small businesses popping up but several comments mentioned chains including Hobby Lobby and Market Basket.

Restaurants
The majority of comments listed restaurants or eateries. Most residents who commented mentioned wanting a restaurant that was family-friendly or offered healthy alternatives, like vegan options. Some chains were listed including B.GOOD, Sweetgreen and Clover.
Another popular answer was a bakery, some residents even adding that bakeries for pets would be a good addition as well.
