James Sikes, WWII Vet, Dies At 90

Sikes was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 40 years.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—Obituary via Westborough Funeral Homes. James L. Sikes, 90, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Westborough, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family. He is the husband to Dorothy E. (Gunn) Sikes.

Born in Olean, NY, he was the son of the late Clifford and Elvia (Faulkner) Sikes. He was raised and educated in Buffalo, NY and was a graduate of Purdue University. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII.

Mr. Sikes was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 40 years. After retiring, he became a member of the Westborough Country Club for 20 years. He enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, gardening and cooking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Kathleen Anderson and her husband, William, of Medway, Debra Gardner and her husband, Steven, of Berlin, NH, and Robert Sikes of Westborough; three grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Stacey Perez, and Jodi Stone; three great-grandchildren, Lucas Perez, Colby Perez, and Sydney Stone.

His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, at 10:30 A.M. in the Southgate Chapel, 30 Julio Dr., Shrewsbury.
