National Ice Cream Day: The Best Places Near Westborough
Sunday, July 16, is National Ice Cream Day. Where will you get a cone or a sundae?

WESTBOROUGH, MA—Chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, with nuts, without, as part of a banana split. In a cone. In a bowl. Out of the carton. Ice cream. It's probably as beloved as pizza, especially in New England in the summer.
Ice cream lovers have a day to celebrate bigtime once a year on National Ice Cream Day, which falls on Sunday, July 16. Many restaurants and purveyors offer deals and freebies. McDonald's, for instance, is offering a free soft serve vanilla cone if you download its mobile app to redeem the offer. Cumberland Farms is giving away ice cream sandwiches if you buy a Pepsi or a Mountain Dew. Patch shared with you this week that Friendly's is selling full-sized Friend-z for $2.99, with $2 of that going to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
While it may not be the healthiest of foods, ice cream does have some health benefits in moderation, according to Sharecare, a health information platform. Ice cream can help fight infertility, it contains bone-strengthening calcium and phosphorous. It can also help boost your mood and even your sex drive, according to Sharecare.
