Partners HealthCare Starts $400M Expansion To Eastern MA, NH
The Massachusetts health care giant plans on opening four new centers in Westwood, Westborough, Woburn and Salem, NH.
Health care giant Partners HealthCare is starting an ambitious expansion, building centers farther into Boston's suburbs. The company announced on Tuesday it would pursue a $400 million expansion into eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. The plan is set to generate up to 700 new jobs.
Four new outpatient surgery centers are on the list of additions. Locations for the centers include Westborough, Westwood and Woburn in Massachusetts and one center in Salem, NH. Partners HealthCare CEO Anne Klibanski said the plan will improve access to care.
“Patients want convenience; they want access to quality care at a lower cost, and all of us want to do a better job of addressing the widespread disparities that still exist in health care," Klibanski said in a statement, "This plan begins to address each of those aims.”

The new sites will range in size and offer a complement of services such as primary care, behavioral health and specialty care. Smaller sites will be solely focused on providing integrated, multi-specialty (primary and specialty) physician services, while large sites will provide ambulatory surgery and a full suite of imaging in addition to physician services.
The new outpatient centers require local and state regulatory review
