In an effort to promote youth safety, Early and his Community Outreach Team have
been presenting teens and their parents across the county information about the dangers of mixing drugs and alcohol, social host liability awareness for parents, and distracted driving.

The funding for these grants is made possible through the Drunk Driving Trust Fund, which is a state grant that provides support services and advocacy to victims, witnesses, and their family members of drunk and drugged driving crashes.

“I’m so proud that our office is able to support Project Graduation in their efforts to
prevent drinking and driving on graduation night,” Early said. “I think it’s so important that
we do everything we can to make sure that our kids have safe, fun post-prom and post-
graduation activities. Project Graduation was the inspiration behind our office offering these
grants. I saw their program last year and thought this should be a model used across the county.”
