Tornado Watch In Effect For Worcester County

Worcester County is among those under a tornado watch in Massachusetts Tuesday afternoon into the evening.

WORCESTER COUNTY, MA—A tornado watch is in effect in several Massachusetts counties, including Worcester County, on Tuesday, through 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

On Tuesday, scattered severe thunderstorms are also possible in the afternoon, roughly between 2-9 p.m. The area of greatest concern is across western and central Massachusetts into northern Connecticut, but can not rule out across the rest of the region, said NWS.

The primary threat with any severe thunderstorms will be damaging straight line wind gusts. However, isolated large hail along with heavy rain/street flooding is also a concern.
