Westborough Company Gets Manufacturer of the Year Award

Westborough-based Carlstrom Pressed Metal got a Manufacturer of the Year Award at a State House ceremony on Tuesday.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—State Representative Hannah Kane presented Westborough-based Carlstrom Pressed Metal with a Manufacturer of the Year Award at a State House ceremony on Tuesday, she announced. As a member of the Legislature’s Manufacturing Caucus, Representative Kane originally nominated Carlstrom Pressed Metal for this recognition.

The Second Annual Manufacturing Award Ceremony recognized 53 manufacturers that are "truly making it in Massachusetts." The ceremony honored the manufacturers and showcased their innovative and revolutionary manufacturing capabilities and products. The event included companies who produce a range of products, from electronic storage systems, spheres, badges, network devices, bicycles, textiles, to even beer, said the announcement.

“The Manufacturing Caucus continues to highlight successful manufacturers all across the Commonwealth, and I am thrilled that Carlstrom Pressed Metal’s long history as a manufacturer making it in Massachusetts since 1950 was recognized at the ceremony,” said Kane in a statement. “It was my privilege to present Mr. David Carlstrom with this award, and recognize Carlstrom’s history of success as a member of the Westborough business community and the state’s manufacturing sector.”

“I am honored to receive this prestigious award on behalf of all of our employees and customers past and present,” David Carlstrom said in a statement. “I would also like to thank Rep. Kane and Lt. Governor Polito who continue to provide assistance and support whenever the need arises.”

Carlstrom Pressed Metal began as a contract manufacturer of light and heavy metal stampings, with a specialty in deep draw and progressive stampings. For more than 65 years, Carlstrom Pressed Metal has produced millions of high quality stampings for commercial, industrial and government customers. The company is known for its quality and ability to stamp ferrous and non-ferrous materials as well as a specialty in deep draw, multi-operational, and progressive production.
