Westborough Earth Day Litter Cleanup is a Success!

Thanks to 135 volunteers!

The Westborough Community Land Trust just completed its annual Earth Day Litter Cleanup. Thank you to everyone who volunteered!

Due to corona virus concerns and in consultation with the Westborough Board of Health, we had to cancel participation by all groups and businesses this year. But thanks to online sign-up and the many individuals and families who pulled together, we got Westborough clean! Even with no physical check-in and no celebratory picnic, it was easy to sense how connected and caring our community is by the number of people cleaning up and the piles of full bags by the road. With each person and family doing a little bit, and trusting others to do their share, we had a successful cleanup once again!

A total of 135 people filled over 200 trash bags, and several people cleaned multiple routes! In the end we cleaned up nearly as much area as it usually takes twice as many people to clean. Amazing!
