Westborough Fire Crews Perform Ice Rescue In Ashland
The people that fell through the ice were able to get out on their own, but fire crews retrieved their belongings from the frigid waters.

ASHLAND, MA — Westborough firefighters in the department's regional dive team responded to an ice rescue call in Ashland.
Fire officials said a call came in from Ashland about people falling through ice in town. When the dive team responded, the people were able to get themselves out, according to officials. The dive team went into the icy waters to retrieve the belongings.
Fire officials warned residents that not all ice is safe to bear weight — even when one piece is stable, ice may not be safe everywhere.
